August 2024 Story of Hope: Jimmy Cansler
When Jimmy Cansler developed a cough in summer 2020, he assumed he had contracted COVID-19. Over the next few weeks, though, his symptoms worsened significantly, despite him being a normally healthy 25 year old.
He learned he would need a heart transplant. Luckily, he received the call that a heart was available soon after he was placed on the waitlist.
Due to the pandemic, most of his family couldn’t be with him in the hospital. They waited at a nearby bar and grill as he was in surgery and witnessed a special delivery.
“It was a surreal moment when we saw a helicopter land, and I knew that that was his heart,” said Ashley Garcia, Jimmy’s sister. “I knew that meant his heart was here, and i...

Tabatha was all for donating Lucas’ organs and tissues because he was such a giving person, yet her husband and Lucas’ father, Matt Oswald, initially dis...

I'm their mom, who loves them both so deeply....they were born Daryl Dean {Alias} and Gabriel Gene {Rocky}...names given for very specific reasons. They didn't know that then, at that tender age. I'd intended to tell them about their names when they were a bit older...but that chance never came for me. My heart cannot fully recover from any of this. At all. There is no glue strong enough to mend what has been done to my heart, too...just differently from theirs. It feels like my heart is now forever scarred, more than anything else has done. I'm typing through sobs, right now. My son..my lively, talkative, so much like me son....oh baby, I would have given you my heart if I could have! My intelligent, loving, competitive, beautiful son...my twins...it's just not right your twin has to go through this life without you next to him on earth. Dammit, honey...I'm so sorry this all played out this way. They lived with me from their premature birth until after 5 years old. My family got caught in the corrupt CPS system in the state, {Which finally got busted wide open 2013-2014 but a year or so too late for my precious twin sons and me} Over the years it destroyed families in Az...families with good parents, who just needed some help, some networking..but no. You can google it. Many children were placed with child traffickers!! I'm grateful Bill found them, and they were not given to traffickers. But my heart has been broken over having my beautiful children ripped away for nothing. My heart and soul were ripped from me that day. I fought nearly 2 years, to get them back. I did get them back once, whilst the regular {and corrupt} family court judge was on vacation and another judge took over while he was gone, but as soon as the corrupt judge returned, they were taken again..while at school...to avoid my not allowing them in my home. Losing one of my sons, and not even there with him when he ran ahead, destroyed me. {Covid was waning then, and traveling was still sketchy} See, they've lived across country from me. The last time I hugged them physically was when they were 7. Mother's Days are terribly hard. Their birthdays are agonizing. Holidays, without his laughter, no more of his shining, glorious eyes, dancing with curiosity and energy, seem duller. And because of what CPS did to my boys and me, I was not there with him...I was at the other end of the country, sobbing and dying inside, slowly. I still cry, to this day. Right now, in fact. Oh, sweetie..my beautiful loving boy. I'm grateful Bill found them, though; if I was not going to be allowed to raise my own sons, his beliefs often mimic my own. It is so hard, when nothing of his family who he started this life with, is evident anywhere at his grave site. Like their mother wasn't in the picture, like I don't exist. I DO love them...always have. I always wanted them with me. It was not my choice, and cps made me miss so damn much of both of their lives growing up. I'd hoped I'd eventually get the chance once they were grown and adults, to catch up on those years. We videoed on holidays, but I would have been fine doing so every day. Now....now, it is far, far too quiet. And my heart cries out with a pain and ache so deep, that I physically feel it. And his twin has withdrawn in these 2 1/2 years. And I can't help him so far away. I don't fear leaving earth anymore. And I'll never get the chance to 'catch up' now...ever. And that...that destroys me every day. 💙💚

I want you to know that this life is not the end. If you want to know the certainty of it. Please look at Jeremiah 29:13. I went through my own darkest period and I will always remember that night and that real meeting, not a head knowledge. There is a reuniting time with our loved ones who have passed on and I pray that you have that Jeremiah 29:13 experience because there's a world of difference when you know the certainty of these things.
